Newsletter Content Guidelines
Community members have the opportunity to submit content to be considered for inclusion in the newsletter. Examples of content include stories, images, and creative content (e.g. drawing, poem, word search).
Content should focus on
- Informing readers of a neighborhood project or opportunity (NPNA or local)
- Celebrating a notable individual in the neighborhood or local organization/business
- Recognizing outstanding service or achievement (NPNA or local)
- Knowledge sharing on historical or current topics in the neighborhood
- Highlighting community information or resources
Articles on sensitive topics will be considered with discretion and should express balanced viewpoints.
Opinion pieces are generally not appropriate for the newsletter as the views may not be representative of the association. Even with credit given to an individual to note the views are not necessarily those of the association, this may not be the best use of space given the limited number of newsletter editions that are produced each year.
Newsletter Submission guidelines
- 100 – 400 words
- Links for additional information are acceptable
- Photos must be taken by the submitter or with permission to use (including permission for photos featuring minors)
- Semi-evergreen: content should be relevant overtime and not too time sensitive
NPNA Board and Newsletter Editor have discretion to edit submissions for clarity and length.
Submission for consideration does not guarantee inclusion in the newsletter.
