Too hot to cook? We got you covered! July’s featured food trucks are How ‘Bout Burger (New truck alert!), Las Gringas, and LocoPops are joining at the park. Pick up to-go or grab many shaded spots at the shelters, picnic tables, shady grassy area, or even the Lavender House/Former Children’s Museum Site across the street (https://www.opendurham.org/buildings/nature-childrens-museum-northgate-park)

Can’t make it this month? Mark your calendar for the next three events: 08/25/2022, 09/22/2022, and 10/27/2022

How ‘Bout Burger: Come try Street Gourmet Burgers from Venezuela!  The truck offers a selection of delicious Burgers;  Classic, Luchador (w/ fried egg!), La Gringa (add some bacon), Hawaiian ( say pineapple!), and Veggies.  Chicken wings and Loaded fries with a Caribbean twist are guests on this truck as well.

Las Gringas: “Nacho Average Taco Truck”  is back in the park. Marco brings authentic Mexican cuisine with a southern infusion.  A family-friendly menu includes tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. Just want to snack or appetizer? Try their sharable plates; Nacho Borracho,  Dynamite Shrimp, and Chips & Queso!

LocoPops:  Best of Durham 2022 “Place to Buy Frozen Treats” winner – LocoPops will be parking in our very backyard! Come cool off with a variety of refreshing, fun, and seasonal flavors: Mighty Mojito, Strawberry Lemonade,  Cookies and Cream, Mexican chocolate, and more!  Options include vegan/vegetarian, non-dairy, and allergen-free varieties

NPNA is proud to organize a family-friendly event such as food truck rodeo + music but please keep social distancing and face-covering in mind so everyone, especially young children who are not able to be vaccinated, and immunocompromised individuals can feel safe and enjoy this outdoor neighborhood event.

IMPORTANT/SOCIAL DISTANCING INFO:

The food truck vendors are using COVID-19 approved cleaning supplies to keep high touch areas clean. In addition, hand sanitizer will be available for customers at the order windows.

  • Wear a face covering when arriving/present at park to order/pickup
  • Maintain 6 ft distance from others when participating and avoid grouping close to the truck
  • Save time being in line with pre-ordering online when available
  • Minimize number of persons doing the pick-up to keep event headcount low
  • Pets must be leashed at all times if brought to pick-up/walk-up orders. They must stay 6ft socially distant too!

NPNA reminds all that participation in any NPNA events or activities is at the attendee’s own risk.
