NPNA organizes a food truck rodeo the fourth Thursday of the month 5-8 p.m. March through October. Come out to Northgate Park by the tennis courts and meet neighbors, new and old! Support local food vendors and come try a diverse array of food and desserts!

FAQs
- How many food trucks are at the Food Truck Rodeo?
There are up to three food trucks at each event; two food and one dessert truck. NPNA volunteers arrange for special event permits to hold the Food Truck Rodeo at Northgate Park. The thresholds of the permit restrict the amount of activity each event can have before more requirements, such as off-duty police and additional trash services are required. If you’re looking for more food truck rodeo fun, many surrounding neighborhoods also hold food truck rodeos, and the local Can Opener Food Truck Park hosts numerous trucks.
- Is alcohol permitted?
No, City Parks do not allow alcohol within the parks.
- Is there entertainment at the food truck rodeo?
Yes! There is often a musical group performing. Donations are much appreciated. NPNA volunteers also bring lawn games and other fun equipment that kids and adults may use. We kindly ask that you treat these items with respect. Additionally, please do not ride bikes, scooters, use roller blades or other wheeled devices on the tennis courts or let dogs play on the tennis courts.
- How do I sign up to be a musician at a food truck rodeo?
Please contact president@northgateparknc.org if you’re interested in performing at a food truck rodeo. Performers are responsible for any necessary set up, tear down, and A/V equipment. NPNA offers a modest honorarium to performers.
- How can I help volunteer with the food truck rodeo?
We always appreciate help with returning lawn games and other borrowed equipment to a centralized spot at the end of the evening. You can help at the NPNA table to share information about the organization and why you value being a member. If you’re interested in other food truck rodeo volunteering, please contact boardmember1@northgateparknc.org.
