NPNA Annual Meeting & Picnic

Happy May! That means it’s almost time for the annual NPNA picnic meeting, which will be held this year on Saturday, May 17 at 11am. We will have a business meeting first, where you can hear a brief review of what NPNA does, honor outgoing board members, and find out which neighbor won the President’s award.

This is also when voting for NPNA officer and board members occurs – please consider serving! If you would like to nominate yourself or anyone else, or get more information, please email president@northgateparknc.org   We will share a board slate ahead of the annual meeting for consideration at the meeting. Nominations will also be accepted at the meeting.

It sounds like a lot, but really goes very quickly. Following that, we will have a picnic – NPNA will provide barbecue. It would be helpful to us if you would take a moment to let us know your thinking of coming and if you’re bringing a side dish to share – use this link

Feel free to just stop by, or to bring a side or bring only yourself. We would love to meet new neighbors, see old friends and chat about the neighborhood.

Historic Durham Athletic Park Survey

The City of Durham is exploring what new uses of the historic Durham Athletic Park may benefit the Durham community more.  This plot of land is 5.42 acres large and is located in a part of Durham where density of residents has increased over the last twenty years. The current use of this space as a baseball field is underutilized and the City of Durham wants to hear from residents about how this land can be used in the future to better serve our Durham residents. Get more info about the feasibility study at the Project Page.

Phase One of public input for the Durham Athletic Park Feasibility Study will close on February 28, 2025.

*Given that this is publicly owned land, the City of Durham does NOT seek to sell or use this land for private use such as privately owned or rented condominiums.  Open space is lacking in the urban center of Durham and this space shall remain accessible to the public.*
